Judy Dow, Abenaki Educator

Earlier this week, we hosted Judy Dow who is an Abenaki educator and artist.  She worked with all three third grade classes.  She showed us some amazing artifacts and taught us to throw a spear with an atlatl, how to weave baskets, and how to make cordage (rope made from twisted plants fibers).

Fort Dummer

We can't visit the remains of Fort Dummer because they are submerged in the CT River so we built models of the fort instead.

Woods Time

Our class earned some woods time last Friday.  We had fun playing by the stream.
