Circuits and Conductors
Today we did an experiment to find out if something would conduct electricity. We discovered that a penny, nickel, paper clip, brass fastener, tin cap, and a nail conduct electricity. They are made out of metal. Insulators don't conduct, like a popsicle stick or a rubber band.

We did an experiment to determine what types of materials conduct electricity. I found out that a penny conducts electricity. I thought it would not conduct electricity because it's made out of copper and zinc. Metals conduct electricity but glass, rubber, and paint don't.

Today we did an experiment with electricity. First we had a D battery, a few wires, and a mini-bulb. We realized that pennies are conductors and a dime and metal cap were conductors. But, you can't complete a circuit with paint. Or a piece of paper. Or even a whole stack of it.
