6th Grade Found Poetry

The sixth graders have been working on creating some found poetry. They learned how to choose powerful words from the text. They also thought about word choice when creating poems with different moods from the same text. Lastly they worked on designing images that highlight their poems.

3rd Grade Poetry Celebration

The entire third grade at Academy School spent a few weeks learning about poetry and writing their own poems. I collected a poem from each student and we bound them into a book. They were so excited to make their own book and read their friends' poems.

2nd Graders Get Some Tree Cookies

The second graders are learning all about trees. Thanks to Ms. Pancake for bringing her chainsaw and cutting some tree slices for us. Now we can find out how old the trees were when they fell.
